Is OtterSign Scan the same as identity verification?
No. Scan reads a license barcode and autofills your form. It does not confirm the ID is authentic or that the person holding it is who they claim to be. For that, use OtterSign Identify.
What devices does OtterSign Scan support?
It’s optimized for iPhone today. Android support is planned. No additional hardware is required beyond your device camera.
Is the data secure?
Yes. All scanned data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and covered by our SOC 2-aligned security practices and role-based access controls.
Does the scan autofill my forms?
Yes. After a scan, details such as name, date of birth, address, ID number, and expiration populate directly into OtterSign smart forms and agreements.
How is a scan recorded for compliance?
Each scan is logged with a timestamp and linked to the agreement record, so it shows up in that document’s audit trail.
